My Bio
I'm a doctor. I have worked in the NHS for over 40 years. I was proud to become a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in 1991 and I loved my job. However, after 18 years, I discovered a new career path - as a Locum Consultant, Medical Expert, Board Member, Medical Teacher, Executive Coach and Medical Appraiser.
Board work at Mildmay Hospital and Medcare UK led me to Uganda, where I now chair a programme to build new facilities for Palliative care and Paediatric rehabilitation in rural areas of that great country.
When I became self-employed in 2009 I experienced the uncertainty of losing a regular income whilst dealing with the enhanced responsibility of running my own small company. Meanwhile the NHS was coming under increasing pressure. Funding dwindled and vacancies increased; the Covid pandemic was a perfect storm and many people simply lost career focus. Former colleagues told me it was becoming impossible to do the job as well as they used to. Many left the NHS altogether.
As a Coach, I can help if you are setting up your own business, if you are moving on from employment to self employment, or if you are seeking a new focus or direction. I can help you utilise the annual Appraisal process to properly plan for your future.
As a prod supporter of the NHS I have a passion to help staff through Coaching. I want you to be able to identify your options and opportunities, both personal and professional, and to move on the next and most fulfilling phase of your life.
