Maternity Services - what next?

There have been two recent reports into Maternity services - Donna Ockenden on Nottingham, and the CQC 2022-24. Both are a a damning indictment of current practice. But how has this happened? How has a dedicated and empathic workforce become so lacking in skills and motivation? The reports suggest a systemic failure at all levels from Government downwards. Blaming front line staff is not going to change a toxic culture or improve staffing and morale. Urgent action from the top is needed.
