Names and Titles

As Andrew Mountbatten Windsor loses his titles I consider our attitude to the titles we acquire in nour professional lives; how we use them and what they mean to us. Why do Surgeons eschew being called Doctor, and why do I use my title in areas that have no relevance to medicine? Ultimatley I think its about how they make you feel, perhaps.
