Dr Max McLean, former senior Policeman in W Yorkshire, served as Chair of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHSFT from 2019 to 2023. He left after raising Whistleblowing cons cerns over patient safety in Maternity and Neonatal care. This is the story of his ultimately unsuccessful whistleblowing claim, the personal costs and the significant win he achieved during the process.

There have been two recent reports into Maternity services - Donna Ockenden on Nottingham, and the CQC 2022-24. Both are a a damning indictment of current practice. But how has this happened?
